Visual storytelling can help simplify complex ideas, create a connection through multiple modes, and be more accessible by allowing for subtitles, translations, sign language, and voiceovers. Scroll down to explore some recent visual science communication work.
Learning Difficulties Research Animation
In this science communication project for the Reading Resource Centre, I conceptualised, scripted, art directed and produced an animation in two languages - English and Hindi. The aim was to explain new scientific research in the field and encourage teachers to access free specialised resources which can help them better support students with learning difficulties.
The video was also produced in Hindi language to share with partners in India. This entailed tailoring the script and visuals to meet the requirements of that distinct context.
The Science of Glassmaking - Video package
In this science communication project, I scripted, shot and produced a short video package exploring the process of glassmaking and the potential of glass as a material, through interviews with artisanal glass blowers at Bristol Blue Glass, and Dr Neha Chandarana, materials scientist at Bristol University.
