Shopping Data and Health Research - Digital Footprints Lab (University of Bristol)
How can we explain the value of using digital footprint data in health and other research to a public audience?
Microdragons produced an animated explainer and other public engagement material that turns this abstract idea into a visual story, showing how information from our everyday lives can contribute to research with wider
social benefits.

Project goals
Communicate how personal shopping data can help improve health (and other socially beneficial) research.
The challenge was to explain an unfamiliar concept - how everyday shopping data could contribute to health research - without overwhelming audiences
with technical detail.
We developed a visual narrative using familiar objec, scenarios, and metaphors to make the journey from digital footprint data to research impact easier to understand.
